Correction officer pleads guilty to manslaughter in Marcy beating (via Times Union)

Christopher R. Walrath, a 36-year-old former state correction officer, faces up to 15 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to manslaughter on Monday in Oneida County Court. He became the first person to plead guilty to criminal charges in connection with the Dec. 9 fatal beating of Robert L. Brooks at Marcy Correctional Facility.
